On Tuesday16 May, two YoMo staff members attended the YouthBank Scotland Coordinators meeting at HMP YOI Polmont. It was fantastic to discuss the national opportunities coming up for our volunteers involved in YouthBank and it was a pleasure to meet two of the boys who run the YouthBank within Polmont. Lots of exciting opportunities to follow from this wonderful meeting!

MEGA MAGICAL FUNDED FRIDAY TO SHARE!

We have the wonderful young folk from The Church of Nazarene's application which was for simple art supplies like pens, paper, books, glue etc. to have a weekly craft group.

Having this group allowed the young people involved to have a space to relax and calming activities available for them to just breathe- such a simple yet amazing project to have been funded by our Youth Bank!

Check out more of our #FundedFridays to see what other inspiring projects are taking place thoughout Glasgow with assistance from our YB fund.

WEH-HEY, FUNDED FRIDAY TIME!

This week, we'd like to share the amazing work from the Bridge To Further Education young people who decided to apply to our Youth Bank for a grant towards starting their own embroidery classes!

With the facilitation of a professional tutor, these guys were able to develop their skills enough to then feed back to their community by creating sensory blankets for children with additional support needs. Inspiring work guys, well done!

Find out more about what type of projects we fund by looking at our previous #FundedFriday posts!

The sun was shining, and the Sandyhills Youth Committee decided to celebrate it with a picnic and by doing some forward planning!

The YoMo staff are taking on Ben Nevis in June 2017!!

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Britain at 4,411.18ft.
We are doing some training hills before the big climb including the Grey Mairs Tail, Ben A'an and Ben Lomond.
We are all doing this to raise funds for the fantastic organisation that is YoMo!
YoMo is a youth empowerment charity which operates in the North East and North West of Glasgow. We bring a youth empowerment and human rights perspective to the achievement of social and economic objectives. We regularly break new ground in the field of lifelong learning and youth engagement and we champion and promote the interests of young people and their right to be involved in decision-making processes that impact on their lives.
Any donations are much appreciated, donate through: https://mydonate.bt.com/events/yomobennevis.
